All students should apply for financial aid. Why? Even though your financial need determines some of the aid you can receive, your financial aid award isn’t always based on just income.
A significant portion of WCC students receive some form of financial support from a variety of sources. The main types of financial aid include:
- Federal grants, loans, and work study
- Scholarships
- GI Bill and other military educational benefits, grants, and scholarships
- Other sources of aid such as the Charles E. Schell loan, the Tuition Incentive Program (TIP), emeritus grants, and other discounts
There are some smaller, lesser known state and federal programs and private loans
that also may help you pay for school. Be sure to review these additional sources of financial aid.
Each program has different requirements, so make sure you get familiar with them all—you could qualify for multiple types of aid.
