WCC Millage Gets Overwhelming Approval

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Students,

This is a great time for Washtenaw Community College!

First and foremost, I’d like to thank the voters of Washtenaw County for their support of WCC and our commitment to "Keep up the Good Work."

We are grateful to everyone who volunteered their time and talents for getting the word out about the millage. These efforts took shape in many different ways and each with a special value of its own.

On August 2, Washtenaw County voters overwhelmingly approved our millage renewal and restoration. More than 70 percent of Washtenaw County residents who voted – voted yes.

This approval reinforces the high regard the taxpayers of Washtenaw County place in our college and will assure we have the operating dollars to sustain the extraordinary quality of programs and services we currently offer – and to keep them affordable.

But this millage approval means more than dollars. It will allow us to continue to make a difference in the lives of our students and give them the resources and opportunities they need to realize their educational goals and dreams.

What a wonderful way to further honor our 50th anniversary and assure future generations of WCC students that there is great value in an education from Washtenaw Community College.

Let’s all continue to "Keep Up the Good Work!" Our students and community members deserve nothing less.
