Certificate
The Industrial Electronics I certificate program prepares students for entry-level jobs in any of the industrial electricity/electronics cluster of occupations. Students will develop skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems with a focus on programmable logic controllers, electronic sensors, and electronic control circuits.
This is a high demand, high skill and high wage program as defined by the Michigan Community College Network.
Program Highlights
- Build a solid foundation in electricity and electronics applicable to a wide range of electricity related careers.
- Understand the hows and whys of electricity to prepare you to learn new material and solve new problems on your own.
- Work in labs with ‘real world’ equipment that you will see on the job - programmable logic controllers, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, 3 phase motors, motor controllers, sensors and actuators.

2020-2021 Academic Requirements
This program prepares students for entry-level jobs in any of the industrial electricity/electronics cluster of occupations. Students will develop skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems with a focus on programmable logic controllers, electronic sensors, and electronic control circuits.

Students must have an Academic Math Level of 3 to enroll in ELE 111. One year of high school algebra with a grade of "C" or better is recommended.
