Borrow from Another Library

Search and request books and other material not available at the Bailey Library.

You must be a current student, faculty, or staff member of WCC to make an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request.

All interlibrary loan requests and deliveries have been suspended until further notice. 

Use the MeLCat to make an online request to a participating Michigan library. Search for your item, and once you find the record for the material you want, click on the "Get this for me!" link.

  • Search for your item, find it, click on the "Get this for me!" link.
  • Select "Washtenaw Comm College" as the library account, then enter your name and WCC Net ID.
  • Requests are free of charge.
  • The average time for arrival is 5-6 days.
  • If you need material right away, see the reference librarians for help.
  • Materials can be borrowed directly from EMU with a valid WCC ID card.

  • Note: Additional charges may incur, free borrowing is used if available

WCC/UM Reciprocal Borrowing

University of Michigan and Washtenaw Community College students, faculty and staff are eligible for guest borrowing privileges at the other institution. Registration and responsibilities

Registration
Faculty continue to have reciprocal borrowing privileges under established guidelines; simply show your faculty ID to Circulation Desk staff when you are ready to check out at the lending library.

Students and staff must first register at the circulation desk of their home institution. WCC students and staff, present your WCC ID at the WCC Bailey Library. U-M students and staff, at the U-M Hatcher Graduate Library or the U-M Flint Thompson Library. You can fill out the appropriate form at the circulation desk or bring it with you.

You will be notified by email when your guest borrower's card can be picked up at the other institution's Circulation Desk. Bring a picture ID with you.

Borrowing Privileges and library cards for students and staff are valid for the current term, and can be renewed by visiting the Circulation Desk of your home institution.

Responsibilities
Most items circulate for two- three weeks and may be renewed unless requested by another borrower.
Items must be returned to the institution from which they were borrowed.
Failure to follow guest borrowing policies and procedures may result in sanctions or termination of privileges from either or both institutions.
